Ellipsis
School Work
The ellipsis ..., also known informally as dot dot dot, is a series of dots that indicates an intentional omission of a word, sentence, or whole section from a text without altering its original meaning. The word (plural ellipses) originates from the Ancient Greek: ἔλλειψις, élleipsis meaning 'leave out’. In poetry, an ellipsis is used as a thought-pause or line break at the caesura or this is used to highlight sarcasm or make the reader think about the last points in the poem.

Ellipsis is name of a channel I created on a Chinese social media platform, WeChat, for me and my friends to post our literary work, artwork, and video we created. Basically, it is a space we express our thought and ideas.

I've been thinking about what to name this channel for a long time. There is one day, I was having dinner with some friends. After dinner, we were having conversation about all the things we know, we exchanged our idea, knowledge, and thought about religion, philosophy, relationships in social life, and some romantic rambling talk. Between each-one’s speech, there was a short pause( just like ellipsis in literature work… ).

This short pause is really interesting, it gives us time to stop and think about what has just been said.  I want my channel also has the ability to let me stop and think. Of course, that will be great if my content also makes someone to stop and think after they read or view my content.  So, I decided to use ‘Ellipsis’ as the name of my channel.
